We came to Zion to go camping two weekends ago. Well we also came so I could massage some friends that were scrap booking at the Lodge in the next picture. We got up and out of the house at five in morning. The kids were all wide awake and ready to go. We got to the park and to our surprise it was National Parks day so it was free to get in. Normally it is $25. That was great. Got inside the camp grounds and got a campsite right next to the bathrooms. Another great thing with kids. We set up the tent and were off again. Mike took me up to lodge to do the massages. It takes about 45 minutes to get there from the campsite. It is so worth it though, the drive is beautiful.
The kids waiting for me to get my massage stuff out of the car so they could go venturing off with dad.
This is right before the really long tunnel before you get to the lodge. A little out of order.
They came back to the campsite to have lunch and the river was right next to the camp so the kids had fun walking along it. There is a shuttle there that will take you to some hikes and they went on it to go on one of the shortest hikes. Klara needs to be carried everywhere. I don't know how Mike did it alone. He said they both fell asleep on the shuttle bus on the way back.
This is Klara's cheese face.
This was how we hiked with Klara. She was like this on the whole mile there and the whole mile back. She eventually got Mike to hold her and fell asleep. I ended up with a very hungry Mitchel on my back towards the end. They are still a little too small for hiking, but we will get them there.
Our little family with some random people in the back, sorry, we asked for our picture to be taken and this is what we got. We had fun and i hope you enjoyed the very long post full of pictures.

Roasting our marshmallows. The kids had some fun wit the fire. Possibly too much. No one got hurt but they did get in trouble. They had to learn not to swing the sticks around that were still hot from the fire. Mainly Mitchel was doing this, but he learned pretty quick not to swing it around.
In the back here on the picnic table you can see how dirty Klara was. She loved playing and sitting in the dirt. I think she thought is was sand at the beach or something. She could care less how much dirt was on her. The same for food. She didn't care if it feel on the ground and was covered in dirt. We of course took it away from her, but it was just funny to see her like of well dirt won't hurt me looks.
We made it through the night. It got pretty windy. So much that you could hear it coming for you. A little creepy, but the kids slept through it. Pretty chilly in the morn but not too bad. Not freezing so we came at a good time of the year.
Back at the river next to the campsite. Mike made some yummy breakfast for us all in the dutch oven. I was in charge of entertaining the kids till it was done.
Bryce took off roaming around the river so we took some pictures without him.
Every time I would say cheese. This is what I would get. Minus Bryce not looking it is a cute picture.
Mike kept on wanting to taking pictures of the scenery. It is so gorgeous, but I felt that the pictures did not do it justice and wanted to just take pictures of the kids.

It looks beautiful! What a fun trip!
It looks like it was a great mini-vacation! Sadie hikes the same way Klara does (on her Dad's shoulders).
Looks like so much fun!
